Leading Lights --

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Volunteer Recognition Program

Leading Lights seeks to recognize volunteers from all sectors in the New River Valley who are making community changing impacts and serving as a model to inspire others.

You are invited to nominate a person who is an outstanding volunteer for a Leading Lights Award. All nominees will be honored at the second annual Leading Lights banquet on April 8, 2010. Five special awards will be given for outstanding volunteers in three categories: youth, collegiate, and community member volunteers. Applicants will be judged by a committee representing the New River Valley. The on-line nomination form will become available soon. The deadline for nominations is February 15, 2010.

Leading Lights was originated by the Virginia Tech German Club Alumni Foundation and the organization is also a major sponsor of the program. Leading Lights is a community-wide project with representatives from all around the New River Valley serving on the Steering Committee, including representatives from all three area colleges. If you are interested in helping with the project or providing support, please contact the Steering Committee Chairperson, Charles Warren.
