Resources Available for Volunteer Projects
Still looking for a volunteer project? Visit our Virtual Volunteer Fair showcasing the non-profit and service groups who participated in our volunteer fair at Gobblerfest 2009.
Volunteers--Let us know what your project is all about and we can market it and help you find volunteers on our website.
Funding--There are limited grant funds available for service projects developed by students.
Transportation--The Center has a van that can be used to transport students to and from a service project. Contact Sharon Luz, Office Administrator well in advance of your project date to reserve the van.
Hokie Hands Trailer--A new trailer stocked full of tools is now available for volunteer projects. You can borrow the complete trailer or just borrow the tools you need from the trailer. The 5' X 10' utility trailer includes:
- a variety of basic hand tools
- safety equipment (goggles, ear plugs, vests)
- tables
- chairs
- work gloves
- lawn tools such as rakes, shovels, trimmers, and hoes
- tent
- basic cleaning supplies
You can also borrow a variety of fun activities for kids projects--such as arts and craft supplies.
